PERSONAL PROFILE OF IAN HEAD

At age 56 Ian is a family man who feels blessed to be able to do something he loves as a job. He has a passion for his chosen sport and a love of the outdoors and remote parts of the world.

A country boy, Ian grew up in rural Victoria hunting, fishing and diving.  It was here that he developed a love and respect for the Australian bush and preservation of its wildlife.

In 1996 after a number of hunting adventures to Africa with family and friends, Ian saw the need for organized hunting trips. He was constantly in demand for information on permits, accommodation, etc. and so World Class Wing & Game Shooting Expeditions was founded.  Ian now spends many months of the year travelling and hunting both for himself and with clients.  More recently Ian has travelled and hunted further a field, and his deep passion for Africa has now spread to Alaska and the wild Canadian wilderness.

Ian is a Member for Life of Field and Game Australia, a member of the Sporting Shooters Association of Australia, a member of SCI Down Under Chapter and a Lifetime member of Safari Club International.

Ian tackles whatever he does with the same fervour, whether it’s his home life, sport or work.  As well as running WSX, Ian is the owner and Managing Director of Outdoor Survival Aust. Pty. Ltd. now in its 28th year of business.   Ian considers Outdoor Australia Pty. Ltd. to be the number one distributor of premium adventure travel and travel security products in Australia.
